On the 29 June Venera is performing the role of Marguerite de Valois in Les Huguenots by Giacomo Meyerbeer for the first time. The opera is based on the events of the night in 1572 when French Catholics murdered thousands of their fellow protestant citizens and on the political situation around the period. The new production by Peter Konwitschny is conducted by Stefan Soltész. Performing dates: 29 June 2, 4, 10, 13 July.
