Venera Returns to Glyndebourne

In summer 2023 Venera will return to Glyndebourne, UK, to perform as Donna Anna in the production of Don Giovanni. She will share the stage with Andrey Zhilikhovsky, Andrei Bondarenko, Oleksiy Palchykov, Ruzan Mantashyan and Mikhail Timoshenko, conductor Evan Rogister, director Mariame Clément. The production will be part of the Glyndebourne Festival and will run btw the 19th May and the 31st July 2023.

La Traviata in Munich

Venera is back to Germany to perform her first Violetta at Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich. In this production by Günter Krämer Venera’s partners will be Charles Castronovo as Alfredo and Simon Keenlyside as Giorgio Germont, conductor Jader Bignamini.

Venera is forced to cancel Amsterdam

For medical reasons, Venera would not be able to perform Francesca da Rimini in Amsterdam as previously announced. In her statement on social media Venera said: “This is the first cancellation in my career and is due to strict advice from my doctor. Please don’t be alarmed – I am OK but need to take it easy for now. I cannot tell you how sad and disappointed I am to pass this news to you. But hopefully I will be back on stage in no time and I rely on your continuous understanding and support.”

It is expected that Venera’s next stage appearance will be in Munich in La traviata by Bayerische Staatsoper.

New Role at Semperoper Dresden

On the 29 June Venera is performing the role of Marguerite de Valois in Les Huguenots by Giacomo Meyerbeer for the first time. The opera is based on the events of the night in 1572 when French Catholics murdered thousands of their fellow protestant citizens and on the political situation around the period. The new production by Peter Konwitschny is conducted by Stefan Soltész.

Performing dates: 29 June 2, 4, 10, 13 July.

Best Female Vocalist – International BraVo Music Awards
Venera Gimadieva BraVo award

Venera received the International Professional Music BraVo Award as the best female vocalist of the year.  Public success and appreciation of the audience is one of the main criteria for the judges of this prestigious award. Venera received the prize from the international tenor Vittorio Grigolo who called her “the most beautiful in the world” in Russian. Dame Hellen Mirren and John Travolta were amongst the guests. The ceremony took place on the historic stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow.
