Venera makes her debut in China as Lucia / by Florence Eves

Venera makes her China debut in two performances on 9 and 11 April singing the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor. The performances are at Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center, and are a co-production between the National Centre of Performing Arts in Beijing and the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.

The shows are directed by Yannis Kokkos and conducted by Valery Gergiev. Starring alongside Venera are Stefano Secco as Sir Edgardo of Ravenswood and Marco Caria as Lord Enrico. More information is on the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center website.

To mark her Chinese debut, Venera has launched a digital media project #BackstageSercets, in which she aims to have a direct conversation with her audience. In the first episode, she is talking about her feelings towards the role of Lucia.
