Venera wins a Russian‘Golden Mask Award, for 'Best Female Performer in Opera' / by Adnan Lalani

Venera Gimadieva has been award the prestigious Golden Mask award for Best Female Performer in Opera category, in recognition of her performance of Amina La Sonnambula (pictured) at the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow last season.

The Golden Mask Awards are awarded every spring by the Russian National Theatre to celebrate the most significant performances and premiers of the previous season across all genres of theatre.

This honour comes in the midst of a busy and exciting season for Gimadieva, which so far has included Gilda Rigoletto (Hungarian State Opera) and Violetta La traviata at La Fenice, and will finish with her Glyndebourne Festival debut in the role of Violetta.
